Reusing slides & sharing events
You can start a new Doppio item from one already in the deck, or give a colleague access to the event. Copying content and sharing access serve different purposes.
Copy from another slide
- Select a slide without a Doppio item and open the sidebar.
- Choose Copy from another slide.
- Select a poll, takeaway or timer from the list. The list identifies its slide and item type.
- Click Copy this poll, Copy this takeaway or Copy this timer.
- Adjust the content in the normal editor, then click its Save button to create the new item.
Copying fills the editor with the source content and settings. Nothing is created until you save, so you can cancel before then. For a poll, the question, answers, colours and settings come across. You get a new poll, rather than a link to the original poll's votes.
To show an earlier poll's existing votes, use Results from another poll.
Share an event with a colleague
The event owner can expand Share this event in the poll editor, enter a colleague's email address and click Share. This grants access to the Doppio event's polls and results so they can use it for presenting.
Share the Google Slides deck through Google's Share button as well. Doppio event access does not grant access to the Google file. Your colleague should use the Google account associated with the email address you shared with.
The collaborator list shows who has event access. If Doppio reports that access was granted but the invitation email did not send, the person already has access; let them know separately.
Remove event access
As the owner, open Share this event, find the collaborator, choose the remove control and confirm Remove. This removes their Doppio event access. Manage access to the Slides deck separately in Google Slides.
Only the owner manages Doppio sharing. A collaborator can see who shared the event with them, but cannot grant or remove access through this section.
When someone else is presenting
If another user is presenting the event, the sidebar tells you that editing and presenting are unavailable until they stop. Ask them to finish with Stop Presentation before you take over.
