Polls & settings

A Doppio poll asks a multiple-choice question. People choose from your answers on their phones, and you decide how the results look and when the room sees them. A yes/no question, a confidence scale and a pick-your-top-three question all use the same poll editor.

Create a poll

For screenshots of each step, follow Your first poll, step by step.

1. Select an empty slide and open Extensions → Doppio → Open Doppio.
2. Under Ask the audience, choose Poll.
3. Enter a question and at least two answer options.
4. Set the voting and reveal behaviour in Flow and Voting.
5. Choose a chart style and colour theme.
6. Click Save poll. Wait for saving to finish before changing slides.

The preview uses example numbers so you can judge the layout. These are not audience votes. Once saved, size and position the chart on your slide like an image.

Question

Write a short question that people can read from the back of the room. Show Question controls whether it appears on the chart. Turn it off when your slide already has a suitable heading; the audience still receives the question on their phones.

Answers

You need two to ten populated options. A new empty box appears as you fill in the current options. Add Maximum (10) Options opens all ten boxes at once.

Drag an answer's handle to reorder it, or use its move-up and move-down controls. Use the delete control to remove an answer. The chart and phone choices follow your answer order.

Each option has a colour swatch. Choose a palette first, then change individual swatches if an option needs to stand out. Applying a new palette recolours the existing answers too.

Option labels

Label sequentially	Letters such as A, B, C, or numbers such as 1, 2, 3	Your slide already explains the choices, or the answer text is lengthy.
No label	No option labels	You have supplied your own labels in the slide design.

With Label sequentially, choose what appears on phones: Sequence and label, Sequence only, or Label only. For example, the same answer could appear as “A - Short demo”, “A”, or “Short demo”. Make sure a sequence-only answer is understandable from the slide.

Use the minus and plus controls beside Label size to adjust chart labels. Zero is the standard size; positive and negative steps make labels larger or smaller. The control is hidden while No label is selected.

Flow: when the results appear

The Flow section describes what happens when you reach this slide. Click the duration or vote allowance in its sentence to jump to the corresponding field in Voting. Click the results wording to change the reveal mode, then Done to collapse the choices back into a sentence.

For covered results, choose Dark, Light, or Match chart background under Cover background. This controls the cover before the reveal. The result chart's own background is set separately in Colours & Theme.

Voting: time, votes and countdowns

Setting	Default	What it controls
Duration	30 seconds	Voting time, from 1 to 3,600 seconds. Hiding the countdown does not remove this time limit.
Max votes	1 per person	How many different options a person can choose. The ceiling is the number of populated options, up to ten. There is no doubling up on one option.
Show on slide	Off	Displays the voting countdown on the slide.
Show on devices	Off	Displays the voting countdown on phones. You can enable either countdown, both, or neither.
One-tap voting	Off	Registers a choice when someone taps it. With this off, participants confirm before submitting.

A poll's voting countdown is separate from a standalone timer, which you can use for a discussion or break without asking a question.

Example configurations

Purpose	Suggested setup
Quick warm-up	Two or three answers, one vote, one-tap voting and live results.
Choose priorities	Four or more answers, two or three votes per person, enough time to compare them. This collects selections, not a ranked order.
Confidence check	Labelled answers such as “Not yet”, “Getting there” and “Confident”, with results revealed after voting.
Discuss before revealing	Manual reveal, so you can invite a few explanations before showing the totals.
Reveal at the end	Do not reveal on the question slide; add a results slide after the discussion.

Editing, saving and deleting

Select a saved poll's slide to reopen its settings. After the initial Save poll, changes save automatically. Watch the sidebar's save status and allow the preview to finish updating before moving on. A Not saved message means your changes still need attention; see Troubleshooting.

Delete poll opens a confirmation. It removes the poll, while the Google Slides slide remains. Deleting only the chart image does not delete its poll. If an image is missing, use Re-add chart, or Suspend poll to stop asking that question without deleting it. Resume poll makes a suspended poll available again.

To start a similar question on another slide, use Copy from another slide.
