How live results work
When you click Start Presentation, three things happen in step: a session opens, your audience joins, and votes stream back onto your slide.
The session lifecycle
- Start. The Chrome extension opens a live session for your event and gives it a memorable name (something like
brave-azure-dolphin). That name is how you will find this particular run in your dashboard later. - Join. Your audience scans your QR code or enters your 5-digit code at doppio.us. They connect once and stay connected. As you move through your deck, their phones follow.
- Collect. Each vote travels over a live connection and is counted the moment it lands. The chart on your slide redraws as the totals change.
- Stop. Clicking Stop Presentation closes the session. The final numbers are filed under the session's name, ready in your dashboard.
Built for the main stage
When everyone votes at once, Doppio keeps up. The voting pipeline is load-tested at hundreds of votes per second, so the bars stay smooth even when the whole room piles in at the same moment.
Fair play
A few quiet guardrails run during every session:
- Each participant gets one vote per poll per session, unless you raise the limit in Audience Settings.
- Vote submissions are rate limited, so an over-enthusiastic thumb cannot stuff the ballot.
- Voting is anonymous by design. Doppio never records who voted for what, only the totals.
